The Pittsburgh Chapter

The National Society of Arts and Letters is a non-profit volunteer organization that creates opportunities for young artists.  The organization was founded in 1944 in Washington, D. C.  The Society’s dedicated members give their time, energy, and talent to promote and assist young artists in the United States.  Across the nation, chapters work each year to find talented young people to compete for national awards, yearly rotating the category of competition in art, dance, drama, literature, music, or musical theatre.  Since celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2004, NSAL has presented more than 4,000 awards and over one million dollars to talented young artists.
